Delivering the Digital Technology Curriculum at Walsgrave:
The Computing Curriculum at Inspire Education Trust ensures that our children have the knowledge and skills to be able to keep themselves safe whenever they access technology and the internet. From Nursery to Year 6, children are provided with varied learning opportunities as well as bespoke lessons to discuss and understand the importance of keeping themselves safe online.
The Inspire Computing Curriculum incorporates three clear aspects:
• Computer Science (CS),
• Information Technology (IT) and
• Digital Literacy (DL)
Our children will be taught the principles of information and computation, how digital systems work and how to put this knowledge to use through programming. Children will be equipped to use ICT to create programs, systems and a range of content. We ensure that children become digitally literate, able to use and express themselves and develop their ideas through ICT, at a level suitable for their academic stage that will develop them for the future workplace and as active participants in a digital world.
